MARC records (Machine-Readable Cataloging) is a data format that includes electronic bibliographic information. Film Platform offers both MARC-8 and UTF-8 records for our titles. It normally takes a couple of weeks until MARC records are available for new titles once they have been added to our catalog.
A personalized list of all licensed titles, i.e., those which are available on your account and for which MARC records are already available on our system, will be shown under “Marc Records” from your admin panel’s Reports section.
Here's step-by-step instructions on how to access MARC records:
-
- Make sure you login to Film Platform with your admin credentials. You should have received these credentials immediately following your initial purchase with us. If you do not remember these credentials, or are unsure who is the admin at your school or organization, please contact support@filmplatform.net
- Once logged in, your admin username will appear on the top right side of the
screen. Clicking on your username will generate a dropdown menu of options,
otherwise known as your Admin Panel.
- Now that you see your admin panel, simply click “MARC records”.
Each row represents a single film title in your account. You may download individual MARC records, in either MARC-8 or UTF-8 formats, by clicking the relevant “Download File” link. You may also select all the titles in your account by clicking the relevant button in the top row and download all the records in one compressed file.
Additionally, you can download a list with all the selected film titles, including the full details and download links, as an Excel file, by clicking the “EXPORT LIST TO EXCEL” button at the bottom of the list.
